I need to run a sony CD player for a weekend. It has to run for an hour twice a day for 3 days. I don’t really want to spend lots on batteries so I would like a small portable generator but don’t know what to use and how much to pay?

You can probably get a small one at walmart or any home improvement store.

Maybe think again. 6 hours is not much use, and batteries may be your cheapest and easiest way to go. If you don’t like changing batteries, find a CD player that takes larger ones (AA or C) or a boom box that takes D. For long term use, I found a 12 volt cord that plugs into the CD DC power socket and connected it to a small “motorcycle” battery which can be recharged from an auto battery charger, or direct from your car battery with jumper cables.
Good Luck

You can buy a re-chargeable battery that you can re-charge in your car. It is easier that way. Or get an Ipod or an MP3 player that can be recharge in the car while you are traveling.
