1 Star CORRECTION TO ABOVE REVIEW
Amazon only lets you write one review per customer, so I am using another account to correct the other review I made earlier. I have a new review of this product and it is not favorable and I have returned the item. After doing some additional testing I found that the quality of this product is very poor. They are trying to copy the Honda EU2000is in almost every detail. Even down to the model name. The generator did not function as well as I expected. The decibel level at idle is nice, but under load it gets much louder. There is also a copied from Honda Eco-Throttle that I could not get to function properly. It is supposed to change the throttle based on its load, but it just ran at full throttle the whole time. I was able to run two 500watt halogen lamps and a 5volt drill at the same time, so I know it has power. But it would not turn on a 4′ flourescent lamp fixture. I don’t know why, because my old Coleman would easily. I have decided to spend some more money and buy the unit that this one tried to copy, the Honda. I may have spent a lot more money, but the quality, the support and the reputation of being the best small generator out there goes a long way with me.
4 Stars Looks like a good deal
I just purchased this unit to replace a Coleman Powermate Pulse 1850 generator. One thing that caught me off guard with this unit is its size. By the picture I thought it was going to be similar to the Honda EU2000. It’s a little larger than I expected. It has two running modes and is very quite on the economy mode. It gets a little louder off the economy mode, but still much better than my Coleman. It is definitely easier to carry around. My Coleman was 70lbs and this is 59lbs. It also has 350 more peak watts. The only issue I can see is with any support that may be needed. There is no phone number or website to go to for support when the unit is broken or assistance is needed. Hopefully, it won’t be necessary, but I didn’t like the fact that the manual just says to see an authorized repair technician, but doesn’t list any. I’m sure that the unit will perform well, but only time will tell.
